Get Your Armor

This entry is doomed to be jam packed with totally random stuff.
Ready for this?

1. I got 2 CDs from my Yale CD pal and it was a really interesting mix of classical music, latino, really hardcore rap, techno, Mulan soundtrack and pop. So now I have a couple of weird songs on my ipod that I may become addicted to... Wanna know what I'm talking about? How about this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOs88jUWOMc = Richman, 30h!3

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqGnsP4wOf0 = Cherry Cola, Savage Garden

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZmnoQqVP68 = Sincerely Me, Better than Ezra

So I had loads of fun listening to it. In complete contrast, Sam came over today and after we made oatmeal raision chocolate chip cookies, we watched some lady gaga and britney videos. I made fun of them, and Sam gushed about how much he respects Britney. We both agree that the Swedish guy in lady gaga's paparazzi video is hot stuff. He is pretty hot...Go watch it if you like : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOrKLUlh-To

And now after discussing Jordan Sparks with Sam, I downloaded "Battlefield" which I originally thought was trashy and then when her voice kept going on and on in my head I realized the only way to get it out was to finish my little love affair with her song...so thats why the title is about Armor. I'll think of another clever way to tie in armor if that makes it seem less like a tool.

Two more music updates for you:
Needtobreathe is coming to Connecticut while I'm at yale in September and I want to go more than anything...so if anyone wants to go...please let me know!

Last one. Did you guys know that Vampire Weekend wrote a song about Cambridge,MA? I feel pride. Go listen to the song and feel the same pride. Woot.

2. Johannes is coming to visit! Isnt that lovely? So basically our little cabin on the coast of Maine (ok, more like my third aunt and uncle's house) will be crowded since Bee is coming too, but thats more fun right? More people to play a steady stream of cards with and gossip. Wooo!!

3. My dad has a really bad habit of buying really bad shoes. The most recent: Mandals. Oh its painful. So Mom and I took him to get some appropriate shoes and we had great success. This is a word to you males out there: DO NOT EVER BUY MANDALS. Flip flops are acceptable. And Tevas under hiking or boat conditions are ok too. BUT NO MANDALS. Thats a deal breaker for most girls I know. Crocs are up there too. And Man-uggs. So beware. My honest advice is to ask a girl/woman who is close to you before you make shoes decisions unless they are mens dress shoes or sneakers...all the other stuff is a little risky. It's not that i dont trust you (especially if you're gay. then I have slightly more faith in your decisions)

4. I think I'm going to need to start my own version of texts from last night, just based on the past few days of hilariousness that has appeared in my mailbox...either by mistake or because some people are up to their usual strange activities.

5. I spent the weekend on the cape, chilling with my parents and getting tan and reading Anna Karenina...I'm almost done!! Which was nice, except that my hand with all the rope bracelets is totally albino under said bracelets. it's pretty hot, let me tell you.

6. I'm going to see HARRY POTTER AT MIDNIGHT TOMORROW WITH BRENDAN AND KELLY!!!! AHHHHHH WOOO!!!!!! I dont even like harry potter all that much, but I'm psyched to wear the dress I made (which admittedly looks ways more elf-like but whatever. Its the thought that counts)and hopefully a cape that I'll borrow from Sam who is also going but with some other characters.

7. People surprise you dont they? Its kinda interesting when their opinions about other people change. I'm having thought issues myself. What if someone's morals are totally different to yours all of a sudden? There are a number of issues with this but I'll keep it to one specific version. To be blunt, and sorry if the person I am talking about reads this and figures out that I am talking about them but maybe it will be a welcome wake up call (?), WAY to make sure you dont have any close highschool friends anymore. It makes me barf when girls lose all their friends because they have a boyfriend. Whats worse is when guys do that too. Way to be super lame. I'm the kind of person who expects the same level of commitment to friendships that I put in...so fail. On a few people's parts. Ok i'm done with the passive agressiveness. I wish you the best of luck in your life, and all the happiness you can find.

8. Bex and I always seem to run into Mr. Quain at the YMCA gym...how bizarre is that? Well, whatever. We've been having fun lately. And once I replace my sewing machine's needles I will be able to make those pajama shorts I promised you.

9. I have really cool roomates in my Saybrook suite next year. Two are from California and one from Long Island...yay coasts! I was a little worried that I might end up with a country music lover from alabama...and that had potential to be awkward if Sam came to stay with us...For the HARVARD YALE GAME!!!! Whatever whatever.

10. I bought Ferry Tickets woot!

11. I like having Penpals aka Patrick and Barbi. Such hard workers, you guys are.

Ok peace I have other things to do.
xx
