Summer Time

I ate some REAL (as in, not gross wintry-flavor) strawberries around midnight
after sitting on my couch and watching not one, but two movies
while the lightning was flashing outside.

Now I'm sitting here in my room listening to the really gentle sound of rain
outside my open window
and a cool breeze is coming in to keep me from melting to death after today's heat.

This afternoon, I went to a driving range with Thwaites for an hour or so
and learned to drive. Not well, I still look like I am playing field hockey and not golf
but it was fun.
I have two blisters that I already broke on my hands from this experience
but the sun
and my success at hitting the car that was driving around picking up balls (I was the only one)
made the experience excellent.

I woke up really late but it did not matter.

I had breakfast at my favorite diner with Kelly, Ben, Brendan and Thwaites,
at noon
and it was excellent.

I had time to think today about those questions that you HAVE to ask yourself
but at the same time you avoid them as long as possible.
And it wasnt scary, because I had time.
I still dont have answers, but I'm more at peace with these questions than I have been.
Maybe the answers will come to me.

I was destroyed by Thwaites at air hockey,
but he worked up a sweat and I did not.
Clearly not something I'm worried about.
I'll get him back tomorrow.

We sat on my porch reading today
Thwaites - the Girl with a Dragon Tattoo
and I read about plague victims in Europe.
But it was in the shade of my porch
and that made it bearable.

I'm making to do lists because I leave on Sunday
but I'm not worried.

Clearly it is summer time.
